C'est Noel

Just a little word art for the holiday's. If it is possible to be too involved in my son's school...I am attempting to make it happen. So if I make it to February, and actually get something posted, I will be surprised.

Summertime Mini Kit Part 2

After last weekend with 11,000 boys and men scouts, I think I have done my volunteering for the year. We spent the weekend at our Heart of America Centennial Campout. It was a blast. It was cold, rainy, and super fun. What an experience.

I volunteered at the Lowe's hand made booth. I think we helped about 2500 DIY kits. Enough hammering for a lifetime. It was a bit of crazy. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Here is the alphabet for the summer mini kit. Enjoy.

Summertime

With Summer completely under our wing. It is time for me to start organizing my pictures to do pages for them. I am always a little behind. Our summer was not much to discuss. My son had a great summer trip to Cape Cod and spent a little less than a week in a rental with Grandparents and my sister's lovely family. I haven't begged for the pictures yet, so I just have to record the pics from the summer around the house.

Sweet Summertime, is my first set of papers in a mini kit, that I am working on to set that in backlog of scrapbooking in motion.

I Took His Hand...

This is one of my favorite poems and I am trying to incorporate it into my son's scrapbook. These pictures remind me of making Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen. A little guy comes in the kitchen and asks can I go outside. A few minutes later, I go to check on the turkey, and look out the back door and spy timid little boy throwing piles of leaves in the air. I stopped. Stood. Put the hot pads down and grabbed the camera. It was incredible fun and it was the best turkey dinner we had later that day.

I Took His Hand and Followed

My dishes went unwashed today,
I didn’t make the bed.
I took his hand and followed
Where his eager footsteps led.

O yes, we went adventuring,
My little son and I…
Exploring all the great outdoors
Beneath the summer sky.

We waded in a crystal stream,
We wandered through a wood…
My kitchen wasn’t swept today
But life was gay and good.

We found a cool, sun-dappled glade
And now my small son knows
How Mother Bunny hides her nest,
Where Jack-in-the-pulpit grows.

We watched a Robin feed her young,
We climbed a sunlit hill…
Saw a cloud-sheep scamper
Through the sky,
We plucked a daffodil.

That my house was neglected,
That I didn’t brush the stairs,
In twenty years, no one on earth
Will know, or even care.

But that I’ve helped my little boy
To noble manhood grow,
In twenty years, the whole wide world
May look and see and know.

SUMMER CANNING

We are canning and freezing everything that doesn't move. My son better watch out, if he sits in front of the TV to long...soup him up. So here are some jar labels I just made. Enjoy.

Color Block Retro Design

Just loving a new website I found. Color-collective.blogspot.com. Love it. Just the inspiration that I needed to pull through a complete inspirational color block I was having. Looking at colors that inspire me for the new space. My space isn't anywhere close to being done. I just needed to stay positive toward getting the project done. I hopefully, am going to have a few nice days, to get the window in the space. I picked out lighting and hopefully, soon I will have all the framing done on the first segment. I am sure this project will hit full steam after baseball season is complete. Pray for my patience until after the first of July

Here are the papers that came out of this little adventure in color. Its a little retro color block.

Garden Time!!!

The weather here in the Midwest has been inspiring. The skies have been straight out of the simpson cartoons. Cumulus clouds, and sunshine a recipe ripe for playing hookie from work. I have been strong but I am not sure how long this will last. Lord give me strength.

I think the only thing keeping me in the office all week might be that since Easter we have been outdoors every weekend. Between the glorious weekend outdoors with the family to Soccer tournaments, to this weekend at the Pack Campout. We have spent more time outside than I can ever recall. I never have a tan in April. I am more of a mid July tan kind of chic. Only draw back, allergies. I put on eyeliner this morning, silly rabbit. I hadn't even got out of the driveway and I look in the rear view and see a reflection of a raccoon. I had to do a double take.

I am so ready for a chance to get my garden in. Last year we had our Broccoli, Rosemary, Tomatoes, and Basil in by this time. So hopefully, we can get a chance to get caught up on Sunday... I have had a chance to get all the beds ready, and have the blisters to prove it.

I started another set of papers. Here you are.

Whatever you do don't ask me about house keeping. We just don't want to go there.

Stamped Leather

What a beautiful weekend. We had a wonderful Easter weekend with family old and New. I got to hold our little niece  Avery. My son was 9 lbs when born, so holding a little 7 lb baby, was a special treat. She is amazing, beautiful and so soothing. She just snuggled up in my arms and sunk down like she was melting. Love it.

Between keeping my guest fed, the Easter bunny, Birthdays, and cleaning up the yard, I snuck in some time for me. Here is another specialty sheet for my Denim and Diamonds Collection. Stamped Leather look paper. Enjoy.

Spice Market papers

The last set of these papers I created were really liked. So I thought I would make a few more. I have always loved the interlocking wedding ring motif. It symbolizes so much love. With the holiday weekend upon us, I needed some more love.

Western Labels

When I found these wonderful vintage veggie labels. They just seemed to ring true of the western theme, I am working on. I have been really collecting some great materials for this set. The papers were easy, now on to the elements. Let's just say I am challenged in this area.
