Demo Complete

Demo Complete!

With the long weekend coming up, I thought I would catch up on some blogging. My studio space is progressing along pretty well. Hopefully, I can post the "Light at the end of the tunnel" project on Tuesday. God and husband willing, we will get the window cut out this weekend. It looks like clear skies, so god is doing his part. Let's hope for my better half, to help out getting his half done. My husband is not incredibly handy, and I am the one with the big ideas and small budget.

So the following is a diary in pictures of the space.

Enjoy!

I am so looking forward to using this space, it has sat not being used for too long. A quiet place to work and be creative.

Talk me off the ledge.

Swamped could not cover the last two weeks and it just doesn’t look like it is going to get any better. Sometimes I just wish that my life was less full of tedious and more Art. Sometimes being an artist trapped in an Architects body is a fine line. Some days when I put on my Architect hat it is full of design and fun. Others it is full of crabby contractors and management issues. I wonder am I really trying to let the artist out or is the artist being suppressed because of fear.

Fear is such a tragic revelation. The fears of letting the fun artist fly away. What could be so frightful in that? I guess the responsible side of me is a little bit stronger than I thought. A little redirection is needed. Maybe it is a weekend for finding a place for me and my crazy artist.

A home for the crazies, a place to start, and a hideaway is clearly a direction. So a long time ago I carved out a corner in the basement as mine. After fighting back water issues, I think I'm ready to move it to a drier location. I have always allocated this space for an extra bathroom.
Here are the before shots taken last weekend.

To be continued….soon. Hopefully with a window.

Christmas Aftermath

I know its technically early to take the Christmas stuff down. I had a willing pack mule, fresh from watching Sponge Bob and Chipmunks, looking for something to do. I had him, and once we began there was no returning. So I go to put stuff away in the closet, I notice that we forgot to put out the beloved-lighted moose village. Because every well decorated house must have dancing Moose. Don't you? I look around, trying to understand how this could happen; I noticed that the boxes were pretty non-descript. Yes some were Christmas colored but not consistent. Time for...theatrical music... a LABEL. Click HERE

Just a really simple label, ask me next year about the moose.
